4. Airport Emergency Plan

This course will clearly demonstrate how a ‘quality’ AEP is put together from the beginning - accounting for both regulatory and current ‘best practice’ – together with a whole range of related matters. Importantly, it also shows how the AEP is managed and, ultimately, applied Benchmarks from some of the world’s most respected airports (in terms of airport emergency planning) have been used in many aspects of course preparation.
Objectives:
Successful course completion will adequately provide graduates with a level of knowledge sufficient to fully understand most aspects of an AEP – as based on a generic international airport model. When the course is combined with adequate & associated practical experience, graduates should generally be capable of taking on any assignment associated with the AEP;

- an overview Aircraft Operator & Ground Handling Agent Emergency Response,
- Crisis Communications,
- Aircraft Related Emergencies,
- Non-aircraft Related Emergencies.
Target Population
- Front-line airport staff having a significant involvement with emergency response at their airport – together with all levels of related management, up to and including the airport’s top manager,
- Airport staff that might need to indirectly support an emergency response, together with those who maintain’ normal operations’ whilst the emergency is in progress,
- Who would like to attain a better knowledge of the AEP in general,
- Any airline’s ‘airports’ staff – including ‘ground handling agents’.
